BU120- Certified Heavy Equipment Operator- BULLDOZER
Participants learn to excavate around grade stakes, grade, level, and slope materials. Upon completion of this course, participants are able to: Perform pre/post trip inspection, use proper safety procedures, perform rough ditching and spreading, perform ripping operations, cut and build a gentle slope bench, properly use a bulldozer on unstable soil, and replace cutting edges on blades and teeth on rippers.
BH120-Certified Heavy Equipment Operator- BACKHOE
Participants learn to excavate, level, and load materials with the front loader and with the back bucket maneuver with the attachment, dig excavations, and trenches. Upon completion of this course, participants are able to perform pre/post trip inspection, grease and lobe equipment, identify, and understand all controls, use the front-end loader to load dirt, use the backhoe attachment to dig trenches of specific depth and length, replace cutting edges, and maintain industry standards.
EX120- Certified Heavy Equipment Operator- EXCAVATOR
Participants learn to maneuver an excavator using the back attachment, and dig excavations and trenches. Participants also learn trenching and sloping techniques. Upon completion of this course, participants are able to perform pre-trip inspection, prepare sub-base, dig on uneven surfaces, backfill trenches, load trucks, dig trenches to grade, set up on open excavations, bench techniques, and maintain industry standards.
HAC120 – This unique course combines two units of the above heavy equipment
HAC240- This course combines all 3 units of heavy equipment for a truly comprehensive construction course.
Combination Courses
(Heavy Equipment + Class D/Class 3) OR (Heavy Equipment +Class A/Class 1)
These courses are ideal for those who wish to work in the construction sector. Having a commercial licence in this industry makes our graduates much more employable. It opens doors to careers in float truck driving or dump trucks.
Our students can combine either commercial licence with one, two or three units of heavy equipment. Please speak to our course advisor to discuss your career goals and select the right combination course for you.
HAC1AZ – This course combines one unit of heavy equipment with the Class A/Class 1 commercial licence. It is ideal for those who are seeking employment as float truck drivers.
